Only christian among Dapchi school girls still held by Boko Haram

Chidi Samuel || Liya Sharibu, the only Christian among the kidnapped 110 students of Government Girls Science and Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe state, was not among the girls released by the insurgents on Wednesday morning.
It is not yet clear why the insurgents are refusing to release the girl.
A source who did not want to named also confirmed that 5 of the girls were brought back dead by insurgents who returned the students in nine vehicles.
The arrival of the insurgents in Dapchi early Wednesday morning caused confusion in the town as residents took to their heels on sighting the convoy of vehicles which brought the girls back.
“Boko Haram just returned the kidnapped girls this morning. They brought them back in the same set of vehicles which they used in conveying them last month.”
“People are scared because they do not know what the insurgents are up to,” the source said.
Meanwhile, the Presidency has confirmed the release of the girls.
The presidency tweeted Wednesday: “Details about the released Dapchi girls will be made available in due course. The girls are now in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS), in Dapchi”.
It also said the State Security Service, also called DSS, “will be briefing the President and the nation in the course of the day”.
